My Dogs

I love my dogs. Coe Coe and Spectacles. Coe Coe is 12 and a complete mutt. Specs is 3 and also a total mutt. Me and my family have a weak spot in out hearts for mutts. Coe and Specs rule our house, they are the queens. Coe is always the last one to get up in the morning. She bounces from bed to bed as people wake up and comes downstairs after the last one of us has left for school. My mom feeds her and then she is back to bed. Specs is the sweetest dog I have ever met. She is a cuddler.

There is a great story behind her name, Spectacles Hartwell Lutzenkirchen. In the summer of 2005, my family was at Lake Hartwell as much as we could. We love it there. One day it was so hot and my dad had been doing yard work. After a couple of hours he ran and leaped into the water without realizing to take of his glasses. As he floated to the surfaces he let out a yell and told us to all dive in and begin searching. He told us that whoever found them would get $50.

After a day of searching I began joking with my dad and asked him if I found the glasses then could we get a puppy. Thinking it couldn't really happen he agreed and I began my real search. I was in the water for so long looking that my whole body was a prune. 5 hours later... I FOUND THE GLASSES. I was getting a puppy! So on July 5, my mom, my best friend and I went to the Lake Hartwell pound and found Spectacles. She has two spots on her forehead that look like they could be sunglasses marks. She was perfect!

Coe Coe and Specs are a true part of the Lutzenkirchen family and we wouldn't be complete without them.

I'm not normal

I went to church today and learned that I am not normal. No one is normal. What is normal? Who defined what is normal and how to act normal? We should all embrace our uniqueness because that is what makes us, us. So get out there and be yourself!!

Snobama day

I never knew that one tiny inch of snow can cancel a whole day of school. I mean I an not complaining. Real early Tuesday morning the Gods of snow poured down on Rock Hill. The beautiful snow covered the yards, cars, and grounds of Winthrop University. Everything was covered but the roads, but school was still off for the day! Also on this lovely white snowy day was probably one of the biggest history making things in my lifetime. The inauguration of the 44th president of the united states, Barrack Obama. Since school was cancelled I could now watch the history of the first black president. As I watched Obama address the nation, I could see snow falling outside. After the speech my roommates and I tie dyes some shirts and hung out and had a great Snobama day 2009.
